An approved cover limit always applies retroactively from the start of the month in which the credit limit was decided. This applies both to the credit limits in the primary trade credit insurance contract and to the limits in the CAP contract.
Does the cover include a customer’s branch establishments?
Yes, but the limit must be set for the head office, as we do not keep separate records for branches in our system.
How do I recognise a branch establishment?
Branches are identified in the Commercial Register by the letters “ZN” (for Zweigniederlassung) under the legal form. The head office is then listed as “AG” or “GmbH”.
For whom must a limit be requested if the delivery goes to a different company than the company to which the invoice is sent, or if the invoice is paid by another company?
Insurance always applies to the recipient of the goods or the service. That’s usually the company that places the order.
This can only be a company at its registered head office, i.e. not a registered branch or other secondary establishment.
